Who are we?
We are currently just me, Andre Duckworth aka DJ Priapos, with the foresight to grow into more than just DJ gigs and music production. My humble beginnings start from a small rural town in Mississippi as a farmer’s grandson, expanding my knowledge at Alcorn State University, traveling the world via the US Navy, and finally landing in my current home of Seattle among my vibrational family of healers, artist, musicians and tantriks. My vision is to use the healing sounds of house as part of a dance ritual that you personalize. You create in your mind the healing space that is the dance floor and I’ll take care of the rest. Dance is just one of the many healing tools we carry inside all of us to work out stress as well as love of yourself which are essential to the spirit and the soul. The answers we seek about life are inside ourselves, I offer, each time I play out, to take you on a journey via the dance floor to find your peace. Your own Tantric dance ritual you will bring to the event. I’ll bring the music….
As for growth…I envision 5 dancers when I play out for special events and occasions (example: Full Moon parties). Not just Go-Go dancers, but Tantrika’s each representing the 5 elements. And as each element is different, I wish to have Dancers that are of different nationalities, races, shapes and sizes. Or even a local group put together in honor of the event. I wish to represent women in all their forms, not just the stick figures pop culture seem to think is real.
My beliefs…are based in Logic and Philosophy leaning heavily toward Emmanuel Kant’s Universal Equation. It is this equation that freed me to become the person I am today that is ever changing and evolving. Before I was having trouble with the dogma of the religion I was raised in that was somewhat contradictory in the way it was written as well as its leaders breaking the rules whenever they saw fit. Not all the leaders I encountered were bad, it is actually the good ones that gave me hope and I personally feel would be proud of the direction I’m going although I’m no longer following just one religion. I’m not atheist, yet very spiritual and I incorporate things from all religions that are beneficial universally to all, not just the one or the few.
